59 donors took part in Win on Waste sessions in Canford Heath and Creekmoor on Saturday 13 May. All their donations helped an amazing 10 good causes.

We received donations from 39 people at Westbourne Win on Waste on Saturday 29 April. A record! Thanks to their donations of envelopes, corks, deodorant cans, Tassimo coffee discs, milk bottle tops, biscuit wrappers, stamps, cleaning products, postcards, jigsaw puzzle pieces, sweet wrappers and jam jars, seven good causes have benefitted and less waste has gone into rubbish and recycling bins.

We had another great turnout on Saturday 22 April at our Win on Waste sessions in Canford Heath and Creekmoor. Combined totals were: 67 donors donating the following (equivalent of one normal-size carrier bag): bubble wrap 2 1/4, deodorant cans 1/2, milk bottle tops 9, biscuit wrappers 3, newspapers 39, stamps 1/2, cleaning products 2, CD’s 1/4, Tobacco pouches 1/4, flower pots 1, beer bottle tops 1 1/8, magnets 1/4, buttons 1/8, Xmas decorations 1, hangers 3, jigsaw puzzle pieces 1/3 and cardboard tubes 2.

Please don’t throw the foil from your Easter eggs away. Flatten it and drop it off at any of our Win on Waste sessions after Easter:
Saturday 22 April: Canford Heath 10-11am Coffee House Cafe, Adastral Square, Creekmoor 11.30am-12.30pm Creekmoor Library, Southbourne 10-11am Close Knit Yarn Cafe.
Saturday 29 April: Westbourne 10-11am Westbourne Library and West Howe 2-4pm Henry Brown Youth Centre.
Saturday 6 May: Broadstone 10-11am Broadstone Library.

All Win on Waste sessions in April will be taking: aerosol deodorant cans, sweet biscuit wrappers, cleaning product items (washing up liquid tops, disinfectant wipe packets, sprays and pumps), stamps, Tassimo coffee discs, milk bottle tops, CD’s and beer bottle tops.
In addition to the above, the following are being collected at:
Westbourne 29th, please save and donate plain paper envelopes A5 or A4 and corks.
Canford Heath and Creekmoor 22nd: bubble wrap, postcards, newspapers, junk mail and magazines, tobacco pouches, cigarette packets.
Southbourne 22nd: ribbon, jewellery, keys and padlocks and baby food pouches.
West Howe 29th: polystyrene pizza bases, mobile phones, keys and padlocks, tobacco pouches and cigarette packets.
We received donations from 18 people at Westbourne Win on Waste on Saturday 25 March and thanks to them five good causes are benefitting. Jigsaw puzzle pieces, wrapping paper, bottle tops, biscuit wrappers, stamps, cleaning product items were the main items donated. Keen recyclers, Janet and Barbara show off some of the donations received.

Come along to one of our Win on Waste sessions being run in Westbourne at the Library from 10-11am or to West Howe at the Henry Brown Youth Centre, Cunningham Crescent from 2-4pm on Saturday 25th March.
With seven teams battling it out in our Literary/Culture quiz on Monday 20 March at the Sweet Home Inn, there were bound to be winners and losers. After a fierce, but friendly competition, the final winners were Lipsync with a total of 144 points closely followed by the runners-up ‘The Shushers’ on 142.
The Lipsync team hold up their prizes.

There were donations galore at the Win on Waste sessions held at Canford Heath and Creekmoor on Saturday 18 March. 72 people donated items including 10 flower pots, (amounts in brackets are carrier bag size) jam jars (4), aerosol deodorant cans (1), Tassimo discs (14), milk bottle tops (14), biscuit wrappers (4), newspapers (28), stamps (1/2), cleaning products (3), CD’s (1/2), beer bottle tops (1.5). Other items included fruit nets, cardboard tubes and a bag of soft toys.
