Over 60 people donated items from their waste at Win on Waste sessions on Saturday 14 January in Creekmoor and Canford Heath. Eight good causes were the beneficiaries. The following items were donated (amounts in brackets relate to carrier bags): Calendars (1/2), Christmas paper (6), Tassimo discs (9), Milk bottle tops (16), Biscuit wrappers (2 1/2), Newspapers (27), Stamps (3/4), Cleaning product items (1), Cardboard tubes (1), Jigsaw puzzle pieces (1). In response to a special request 25 bras were also donated which helps to raise funds for charity, Against Breast Cancer. Bags of waste donated at Kinson Win on Waste 7.1.17
Lots of bags of waste were donated at the first Win on Waste session in Kinson for 2017 on Saturday 7 January. In total 7 good causes will benefit from the following (amount in carrier bags): Papers and magazines (1), cleaning items (1/2), Biscuit wrappers (1), Milk bottle tops (3), Deodorant cans (1/4), Cigarette waste (1/4), Printer cartridges (1/4), Corks (1/4), carrier bags (1/4), CDs (1), Foil tins (1/4), one animal calendar and fruit and veg net bags (1/4).

Save and donate: Calendars – only those with animal pictures, Christmas wrapping paper – clean, flat, Aerosol deodorant cans, Tassimo coffee discs & packaging, Milk bottle tops, Biscuit wrappers, Newspapers/magazines/junk mail, Stamps, Cleaning product items (pumps, sprays, disinfectant wipes packets, washing up liquid tops and any other tops from cleaning products), CD’s & beer bottle tops.
Saturday 21 January – Southbourne, Close Knit Yarn Cafe 10-11am
Save and donate: Corks, Keys and padlocks, Ribbons, Calendars with animal pictures, Christmas wrapping paper in good condition, Jewellery, Tassimo Coffee Discs, Baby food pouches, Biscuit Wrappers, Cleaning product items and Aerosol deodorant cans.
Win on Waste – Southbourne 17.12.16
Six good causes benefitted from items donated at Southbourne Win on Waste on Saturday 17 December. Items included Tassimo discs, biscuit wrappers, Christmas decorations, stamps, jewellery and wool,
Thanks to Southbourne Library for hosting the sessions this year, but from Saturday 21 January the sessions will be held from 10-11@ the Close Knit Cafe in Southbourne.
We’ve been successful with our Green Goals bid
We’re delighted! Our bid to the Green Goals fund to expand our Southbourne and Kinson Win on Waste sessions was successful. We’re looking forward to seeing even more people in these areas saving items from their waste each month and donating them at Win on Waste sessions to benefit good causes. We’d like to thank all the companies that support this funding for giving us this opportunity to make a difference.
Win on Waste Saturday 10 December
Forty people donated items for seven good causes on Saturday 10 December in Creekmoor and Canford Heath. One of the main donations were 81/2 dustbin bags of soft toys for the WWF Poole Volunteer Group. Altogether (in carrier bags) we received the following: jigsaw puzzle pieces 3, biscuit wrappers 1 1/2, cleaning products 1 1/2, stamps 1/4, newspapers 22, milk bottle tops 11, CD’s 1, Tassimo discs 2 1/2 , printer ink cartridges 1/2, beer bottle tops 1/2, corks 1/8 and material 4. Our Christmas 2016 Campaign
For our 2016 Christmas Campaign we’re supporting Forest Holme Hospice in their request for postage stamps which will help them raise vital funds. Poole Libraries have kindly agreed to have a collection box for the stamps in each of their libraries, and these will be available until Tuesday 3rd January.
