The next meeting will be Saturday 30 May at 10.30.  The group members are being invited to bring along aluminium drink cans, biscuit wrappers, milk bottle tops, magazines/papers/junk mail/telephone books and stamps.

Well done Creekmoor

There was a great turnout for the first Win on Waste – Creekmoor donation day.  Twenty two residents brought along corks, milk bottle tops and buttons.  The total number of tops was 1,227 and 179 corks.  Two donations from people living outside the area brought the total number of corks donated to 668.

The Dorset Scrapstore was very pleased to receive the corks plus 6lb in weight of buttons.  As a thank you for the buttons, the Scrapstore is offering free membership to any of the donors who would be interested in becoming a member.

The person who brought in the most tops/corks was Mr Kobylinski (304) and the runner-up was Mrs Johnson (198).

The tops will be given to Montacute School in Poole to help with their fundraising.

A big thank to Creekmoor Library for their hospitality and we look forward to seeing even more residents at the next donation day on Saturday 28 March.

Brittany Ferries donate unwanted items

Brittany Ferries have just donated some old pallets to Dorset Wildlife Trust who will use them to make bird and bat boxes.  They have also given 4 tons of recycling to Perry’s who make a contribution of £10 per ton to the Dorset Community Foundation.  Well done and thanks to Brittany for doing this.

Win on Waste – Creekmoor

To all of you who live in the Creekmoor area of Poole, your corks and milk bottle tops are needed. So please get saving and take them along to Creekmoor Library on Saturday 28 February between 11 and 1.  We look forward to seeing you.
