Our bin is full and ready to send off for recycling!

Over the past few weeks we have been saving aerosol deodorant cans and these have been kindly stored for us at Rossmore Leisure Centre.  The good news is the oil drum is now full, so a big thanks to all our Win on Waste donors and users of the Leisure Centre for all their used cans.   Photo shows the dedication of three Leisure Centre staff as they stand in the rain in the dark to show off the full drum for our photo!

Quiz night at the Sweet Home Inn

We raised £92 at our literary/culture quiz night on 16 October at the Sweet Home Inn.  And the winners were….. Black Pug Books.  Thanks to two of our trustees, Nick for being the quiz master and Jo for keeping score and to Brittany Ferries for donating a £100 voucher as a raffle prize.    Here are the winners holding up their prizes.

Wimborne Win on Waste 14 October

The first Wimborne Win on Waste held on 14 October at Wimborne Library during the Care for our Common Home Minster Eco Event was a huge success with 82 people either donating or making enquiries about the next one on 6 January.  Seven good causes have been helped with the items which included milk bottle tops, biscuit wrappers, stamps, cleaning product items, ring pulls, printer ink cartridges, biros/pens and wrapping paper.

Record number of donations at Canford Heath Win on Waste 14 October

We received donations from 89 people at Canford Heath Win on Waste on Saturday 14 October.  Particular thanks to Canford Heath Scouts for all their donations.  All items are helping 10 good causes.  Bags of Newspapers/magazines/junk mail were top of the list – all 24 of them!  Second place went to milk bottle tops with 14 bags.

This photo proves that all ages can get involved in Win on Waste sessions and the second one shows just how many ‘mountains’ of bags we collected.
