Westbourne Win on Waste 25 March

We received donations from 18 people at Westbourne Win on Waste on Saturday 25 March and thanks to them five good causes are benefitting.  Jigsaw puzzle pieces, wrapping paper, bottle tops, biscuit wrappers, stamps, cleaning product items were the main items donated. Keen recyclers, Janet and Barbara show off some of the donations received.

Go to our projects page, We Need That and download a copy of our latest We Need That directory.  New items added this issue include flower pots, wood, vintage tools, baskets, milk bottle tops, cellophane, envelopes, corks, foil, fruit nets, jewellery and toy fluffy animals.

Lipsync – the champions in our quiz

With seven teams battling it out in our Literary/Culture quiz on Monday 20 March at the Sweet Home Inn, there were bound to be winners and losers.  After a fierce, but friendly competition, the final winners were Lipsync with a total of 144 points closely followed by the runners-up ‘The Shushers’ on 142.

Another bumper donation day

There were donations galore at the Win on Waste sessions held at Canford Heath and Creekmoor on Saturday 18 March.  72 people donated items including 10 flower pots, (amounts in brackets are carrier bag size) jam jars (4), aerosol deodorant cans (1), Tassimo discs (14), milk bottle tops (14), biscuit wrappers (4), newspapers (28), stamps (1/2), cleaning products (3), CD’s (1/2), beer bottle tops (1.5).  Other items included fruit nets, cardboard tubes and a bag of soft toys.

Hamworthy Evening Townswomen’s Guild

Monique was delighted to be invited to the meeting of Hamworthy Evening Townswomen’s Guild on Friday 17 March 2017 to speak about Ideas2Action and also to judge their model-making competition. Members of the TG brought along a selection of items to donate to good causes including stamps and newspapers.

Westbourne Win on Waste launches

It was great to receive donations from 21 people at the launch of Westbourne Win on Waste on Saturday 25 February.  All items benefitted 4 good causes with cardboard tubes and sweet wrappers going to Westbourne Library for craft activities. Other items donated included biscuit wrappers, cleaning product items, stamps, milk bottle tops and wrapping paper.

Southbourne Win on Waste 18 February

We had 13 donors pop along to the Close Knit Yarn Cafe in Southbourne on Saturday 18 February with lots of bags of items donated for good causes.  Items included (in carrier bags) aluminium foil (4),  plastic tops (1),  milk bottle tops (1), stamps (1),  cleaning products  (1),  biscuit wrappers (1),  deodorant cans (1/4), ink cartridges (1/4), Tassimo discs (2),  greetings cards (1),  wrapping paper (1 1/2), corks (1/8), beer bottle tops (1/8), small bag of keys/padlocks, fabric scraps (2), newspapers/magazines (3), crafting stamps/magazines (6), baby food pouches (1), plant pots (1/8), CD’s (1), bubble wrap (4) and two metal biscuit tins.

Southbourne Win on Waste 18 February

Pop along to the Close Knit Yarn Cafe in Southbourne on Saturday 18 February between 10 and 11am and donate any of the following: corks, keys and padlocks, ribbons, jewellery, Tassimo coffee discs, baby food pouches, biscuit wrappers, cleaning product items and aerosol deodorant cans.  Your donations will be helping local good causes.

Canford Heath and Creekmoor Win on Waste session 11 February

There was a record turnout of donors to both Canford Heath and Creekmoor Win on Waste sessions on Saturday 11 February – 73, the most we’ve had so far.  Just as important was the fact that eight good causes benefitted from all the donations. We had a staggering amount of newspapers 32 carrier bags and 25 bags of milk bottle tops.
