Thanks to Jane and Julie at the New Orchard Café in Poole we are sending our second lot of biscuit wrappers off to Terracycle. These will eventually be turned into pencil cases and tote bags and in turn help us with our fundraising.

Latest biscuit wrapper drop off point

We’re delighted that Oakdale Residents Community Association (ORCA) have kindly agreed to be our fourth drop off point for our biscuit wrapper collection. The ORCA café is based at the Skills and Learning building in Oakdale opposite Oakdale Library and is open term time only from 10am to 1pm. Sweet biscuit wrappers can be any make or variety. Look out for the box with the Dunk and Donate poster on it.

Creekmoor Win on Waste Group meeting 16 May
Creekmoor residents who enjoy recycling will have the opportunity to meet at Creekmoor library on Saturday 16 May from 10.30-11.30am to discuss saving items from their recycling or rubbish bins and donating them to the local charities who have requested them. It’s hoped that from this meeting a group will be formed to continue the good work which was started during the Win on Waste project.
Newspapers for good causes
A total of 340 kilos of papers/magazines/junk mail and telephone books was donated by Creekmoor residents as they took part in the second donation day of Win on Waste on Saturday 28 March. Perry’s Recycling pay the Dorset Community Foundation £10 for every tonne of paper collected and eventually this money will be available to fund local good causes.
Recycle Week 2015
Recycle Week this year is taking place from 22 – 28 June 2015. The theme is going to be ‘recycling around the home’.
Third collection point for biscuit wrappers
If you would like to collect biscuit wrappers for us and live in Poole town centre you can now drop your wrappers off at Beech House, 28-30 Wimborne Road. Please place them in an envelope and mark it for the attention of Mr C Beale, Ideas2Action, c/o Poole CVS, Floor 3.

Win on Waste continues on Canford Heath
Our second Win on Waste Canford Heath 2015 group met on Saturday 14 March. Items donated included 862 milk bottle tops, a box of glasses, 8 carrier bags of paper and magazines, cardboard tubes, a large padded envelope of jewellery, aluminium drink cans and a bag of stamps.

The next meeting will be Saturday 30 May at 10.30. The group members are being invited to bring along aluminium drink cans, biscuit wrappers, milk bottle tops, magazines/papers/junk mail/telephone books and stamps.
