Win-on-Waste – first collection results

Just under 1000 bottle tops and yoghurt pots were donated by Canford Heath residents on Saturday 31 May and taken to the Coffee House Cafe.  The youngest donator was just 3.

The yoghurt pots were requested by Ted Webster and Poole Old Town Children’s Centres and the milk bottle tops by St George’s Church.

A voucher to the value of £30 was given to the person who had collected the most and the runner received a £10 voucher.

Throughout June, Canford Heath residents are being asked to collect corks and bottle tops to give to the Dorset Scrapstore on Saturday 28th at the Coffee House Cafe.

Win-on-Waste has started

Win-on-Waste – Canford Heath has now started, with postcards being distributed to homes on Canford Heath.  During the month of May local residents are being asked to save their milk bottle tops and/or small yoghurt pots and to bring them to the Coffeehouse Café on Canford Heath on Saturday 31 between 11 and 1.  The family or individual saving the most will win £30 in vouchers.  The runner up will receive £10.

Funding Success!

We’re thrilled to say that we have secured funding from the Green Goals Community Fund in Bournemouth to extend the We Need That directory to include Bournemouth organisations.  The project will run from May to August.  It will result in a comprehensive directory for Bournemouth and Poole residents to look through and help voluntary organisations by donating items they might otherwise put in their recycling or other waste bins.

Funding success – Win on Waste

Success!  Our first project will be Win on Waste – Canford Heath.

This is a project aimed at encouraging residents on Canford Heath to collect items e.g. cans over a period of a month and then donate them to a local organisation who can either may use of them or sell them to raise funds.  There will be a prize for the person/family who collects the most each month.

More information will be follow soon….
